The International Day of the Girl, celebrated annually on October 11th, is a global initiative aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering young girls. This year, we have planned a unique event in Abuja, Nigeria, that we believe aligns perfectly with the spirit of this day.
For this 2023 edition,
Powered by Jaruma Magazine; a debate competition between six schools in Abuja, three of which are government schools and three are private schools. The topics were centred on issues in society affecting the girl-child and how they can be improved upon. The students engaged in thought-provoking discussions surrounding critical issues affecting girls in Nigeria. The debate raised awareness, inspired change, and championed the cause of gender equality.
The 2023 edition also had a panel conversation on the topic “BALANCING WELL-BEING, BUSINESS, AND RELATIONSHIPS IN THE DIGITAL AGE,” which was to enlighten the participants on the importance of prioritizing their well-being in the digital age.
